IOSHA Top Ten Most Violated Standards

Indiana Occupational Safety and Health (IOSHA) general industry and construction safety and health officers conducted more than 1,300 inspections in 2011. Inspections were a result of formal complaints, referrals made by media and other agencies, worker fatalities, workplace catastrophies and general schedule compliance inspections. IOSHA general schedule inspections are generally based on OSHA injury and illness information and records.

The ten most frequently cited workplace safety and health standards following inspections of workplaces ast cited by IOSHA has been compiled. Inspections resulting in these citations were conducted in many different workplaces in 2011. Those workplaces included factories and foundries, doctor's offices, grocery and convenience stores and contruction jobsites. Click here for the ten violations.
