Designated Risk Management Seminar

Did you know distracted drivers cause up to two-thirds of all driving accidents?
Did you know that a driver is four times more likley to have a collision when using a cell phone?
Did you know more than 75% of drug users are employed?

Are your insurance premiums too high?  The key to reducing insurance costs is controlling losses.  Federated Insurance is presenting a Designated Risk Management Seminar on September 21, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel in Carmel.  The cost is $40 and is limited to 30 seats.  Each participant will receive a computerized loss analysis for your company.  For more information contact Brenda Dant or click on the logo to download the registration form.

Find the License

Are you tired of unlicensed “plumbers” working in our industry?  Are you tired of having a statewide license law with no bite?  Then let’s do something about it!!  Our PHCC has already made lots of headway with the “Hire A Licensed Plumber” campaign.  We have made more strides in the past few years than ever before but we can do more.  The professionalism of our industry rests with the license.  Click here to learn more about the FLAG Program.

Statehouse Wrap Up and New Licensing Requirements

A new law passed now requires pump installers in Indiana to be licensed and requires continuing education.  Click here for a copy of the language in the Bill.  The licensing will fall under the auspices of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Water.  Other licenses for the industry fall under the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.  Stay tuned for more information.

Consumer Spring Tips
  • An irrigation system should be checked each spring before use to make sure it was not damaged by frost or freezing.
  • An irrigation system that has a leak 1/32nd of an inch in diameter (about the thickness of a dime) can waste about 6,300 gallons of water per month.
  • Check your garden hose for leaks at its connection to the spigot.  If it leaks while you run your hose, replace the nylon or rubber hose washer and ensure a tight connection to the spigot.
